If you are very lucky, perhaps gritkitty and/or laurashapiro will visit you. Have you been very good all year? And you could always bake some delicious porn...

Meanwhile, some mild spoilers for my vacation and also Twilight and last night's SGA behind the cut

Unfortunately for me, my family a) is crazy and b) makes me crazy-- there's a reason I live on the other side of the continental United States, babies. So, while in Orlando, showing Mr. Pants my true (snotty and short-tempered) nature and in between singing karaoke and gallivanting with my darling Cakeboy, I introduced my beloved Mr. Pants to my brothers, The Dipper and Everclear, and my parents POTUS and FLOTUS. And while I only get worse the longer he knows me, he becomes more delightful in every way. He said of The Dipper: "He's kind of intense." and of my brother Everclear and his very sweet girlfriend, "I've decided they can both come to Silver Lake." (his family reunion in Illinois) and of Cakeboy: "I see where he's coming from. If I was a dude who liked dudes, I'd be all about the hookups and I probably wouldn't have a boyfriend, either."

While we were there, FLOTUS was unable to get to spend any quality alone time with me because POTUS has a hernia and adhesions and an inflamed esophagus and had been very busy trying to turn his stomach inside out with illness, and therefore she cried on the phone every time I spoke with her, both with worry about him and disappointment at my not being able to visit with her at home, as she has EIGHT cats and two dogs, one of whom bit me the last time I was in town. Also, after a few shots of tequila, The Dipper got into a shouting match with Cakeboy at a bar. In addition, Mr. Pants had a cold and I had the most miserable cramps I've had all year. Naturally.

In the "pro" column, though, I threw a very groovy quiche brunch for my local peeps at Cakeboy's house (basically, he ate an entire quiche himself), we attended a protest for Amendment 2, and the karaoke was absolutely brilliant, as was the weather for the entire trip. Also, we played Portal, Deadspace, Fall Out 3, Braid, Beautiful Katamari and other assorted games on the XBox. We saw Quantum of Solace in town (not bad), and Wanted on the plane (very bad, although it was nice to look at and not just because Angelina is smokin' hot) and when I got back, I went to dinner with Mac and K* and we went to see Twilight (not at all as bad as I had expected, more fun than the book and basically awesome overall, what with the terrible 80s-ish After School Special background music, the cheesy and absolutely unnecessary CGI shots of "running", the rainbow sweat, all the fevered pronouncements and Bella's inability to finish a sentence-- but very fine casting, super fun emo teen vampire romance and I'm very pleased with Jacob.)

Re: SGA. Wow, they actually sold it! Who knew? Rodney was absolutely himself the whole time, and she rolled with it, and they were cute as freakin' cute could be. The whole thing was fun and fast and funny, and I did actually think she might really die. Rodney got to be a hero all kinds of ways, and John got to look distinctly nose-out-of-joint when he asked if Rodney would ever make his move and Ronon said "Who cares?" and John oh-so-clearly did. Also, Rodney looks super hot lately, although his ever-thinning little tuft in front makes me feel very tender and sad for him.

It's bright and cold out and I'd better take a shower.

Hello, my lovelies, hello!
