I may have, um. Slacked off at work. A lot. And written this for [info]runpunkrun's birthday. On The Man's time!

Anyway, she's splendid. She and [info]lucitania gave it a glance, and yet I neglected all their sage advice.

I hope you dig it.

I wish sloshy was a real band.

In other news: I've been in that weird, achy 'shall I be pouring out gore any time soon?' pre-flight area for a week now. Hm.

And LJ, sweetheart, oh, your stone bitchery seems to be off the charts just lately. Are we not in the business of making love, not war? In that vein, I've been bathing in delicious fanfic all day. Prompt me and I'll write you at least 100 words of anything you like (of anything I know) at all.

[info]cybel made an audiobook from the delightful [info]anatsuno's completely engaging reading of my story four boots, five thousand two hundred and eighty feet. Plus, [info]cybel made me a splendid cover for it as well! My karma must be super-freakin'-shiny. ::beams and beams::

Now I must go to a dinner party, where I'm apparently supposed to recite a poem or some damned thing. (g)

I adore you guys.

As I've had a heap of groovy swag and the treats just keep coming: [info]anatsuno (who is made of magic beans) recorded a podfic version of my story four boots, five thousand two hundred and eighty feet, which can be found here. I am seriously sitting here with a grin plastered all over my entire body. Her elegant voice, her clever reading, the whole lovely, crisp recording. It's absolutely knocked me out, and you should listen to her dulcet tones immediately!

[info]prillalar and [info]runpunkrun and I are OLD SCHOOL, yo. And thus, a retrospective.

A decade of solid mediocrity! )

Not counting quick and dirty drabbles, I've written something like 170 stories, thereabouts.

That seems... like a lot of stories. And I've attempted at least three original novels in that time, usually cramping up around 35,000 words.

Well.

Jinkies.

I'm reviewing the source material for this year's Yuletide story, and thanks to the magic of tudou.com, I can watch it in chunks that cost me nothing but time. I'm taking notes!

Meanwhile, it's [info]slodwick's birthday, and everyone can get a slice of cake at [info]couple_bucks. Check out the brilliant [info]out_there's magnificent Sports Night/SGA fusion, Fan Mail: she took Sports Night and mixed in a judicious amount of [info]celli's SGA NASCAR AU, Fireball and made me completely faint with suppressed giggling. Go see!

And jesus, you knew, I'm sure, that [info]scrunchy can write? Well holy sweet good goddamn, When We Were Younger and Better is just... dazzling. Amazing. Every superlative ending in -ing.

[info]amberlynne's SGA: Behind The Music? Big fun.

I will remind you that it's probably never too late to drop by [info]couple_bucks to tell her that she's sublime in each and every way.

In conclusion, Flowbee. A little SGA story for slod's birthday, in which Rodney gets a haircut.

A new story over at [info]choc_fic. It's by me!

the present hour.

Summary: The only reason he'd even come in was because there'd been three lifesigns on the detector, which he'd figured meant, you know, kaffeklatsch, or late night three-hand poker—at the outside, certainly nothing more risqué than maybe a drunken game of Twister.

I don't know that I'll ever be able to write OT4, but if I did, it would be in SGA. Not only is everyone freakishly good looking, they have undeniable chemistry, and they break right down into two neat sets of two. (Those sets of two being John/Rodney and Teyla/Ronon, naturally.) I love me some Teal'c, but while SG-1 has beautiful team chemistry as well, they have a deliciously wholesome and platonic love vibe as a whole, Jack/Daniel notwithstanding. I don't buy Sam with anyone else in the team, and Teal'c is the secret agent loverman of the Milky Way, with a lady to make sweet, sweet love to in every port.

All this to say: SGA OT4-- I approve! I'm trying to make one work for the [info]choc_fic thing, in fact, but I dunno, man. The situation seems far too complex and unwieldy to get it to work in any circumstances aside from "freaked out on sex pollen" or "aliens make them do it"-- and seriously, aliens, what is up with those kinky sex rituals? And yet I want it to work. I very much want them cuddled together on one huge bed. Making out on movie nights, taking turns brushing and braiding Teyla's pretty pretty hair... Um. Shut up.

That said, I've been... preoccupied, shall we say, with Teyla gettin' some action. As you may know of my predilection for Rodney with girls, I wrote some Rodney/Teyla. Since I could not for the life of me figure out how Teyla would ever actually consider hooking up with Rodney by the sober light of day (not that she doesn't love Rodney deeply, but sleeping with him? I don't think on, soul brother, as McSwain! would say) I just wrote the part where they have sex.

Classy, eh?
