First snow! I love snow. However, I am renting a car to drive to Vancouver for Christmas, and you know, it didn't occur to me until today, that it might well snow at some point during Christmas week. And you know what? I lived in Orlando for most of my driving life, and there's no snow there. Which means, naturally, that I've never, ever driven in snow. Good times. Any tips, flist of mine? Oh, so last night, I dreamt it snowed, and that I had a huge field behind my apartment, hip-deep in snow, and that it was brilliantly sunny and kids were having snowball fights. Then, today, it snowed? Coincidence? I think not, my young friends, I think not! The night before last, ( I had a very charming dream about Elizabeth and Radek. )Anyway, it was very nice. ( My snowy day! ) At least SGA gives me something to live for! ( Plot? What Plot? Wherein I jabber on and on and on about Miller's Crossing. )Tags: a tender look which becomes a habit, dreamy, sga where it's at: couch perfection I feel funny and my pants are: peaceful the world is singing and it sounds like: Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming, Catie Curtis

I'm reviewing the source material for this year's Yuletide story, and thanks to the magic of tudou.com, I can watch it in chunks that cost me nothing but time. I'm taking notes! Meanwhile, it's slodwick's birthday, and everyone can get a slice of cake at couple_bucks. Check out the brilliant out_there's magnificent Sports Night/SGA fusion, Fan Mail: she took Sports Night and mixed in a judicious amount of celli's SGA NASCAR AU, Fireball and made me completely faint with suppressed giggling. Go see! And jesus, you knew, I'm sure, that scrunchy can write? Well holy sweet good god damn, When We Were Younger and Better is just... dazzling. Amazing. Every superlative ending in -ing. amberlynne's SGA: Behind The Music? Big fun. I will remind you that it's probably never too late to drop by couple_bucks to tell her that she's sublime in each and every way. In conclusion, Flowbee. A little SGA story for slod's birthday, in which Rodney gets a haircut. Although linabean believes her own lack of sexy smooching with John Sheppard in dreams stems directly from the way she's "convinced that John needs it in the ass", my own deeply held belief in John's basic gayness has been shaken recently, as both sheafrotherdon and siriaeve have produced persuasive evidence that, despite a hideous and intrusive soundtrack, some vaguely terrifying make-up choices in the grooming of the female lead and unforgivably cloying dialogue, Joe can be convincingly het in the right context. This context, for example, and this one and this one. In addition, as reading these stories goes to show, this convincing illusion of heterosexuality is not mutually exclusive with John needing it in the ass. ( Observations on Joe's appearance in Cupid )Likely as a direct result of this exposure to a reasonably hettified John-model, I had two John-centric dreams in the last week, and while they are not at all explicit, I should tell you that I, personally, found them mind-bendingly hot. Moving on to ( Exhibit A: )( Exhibit B: )Man, I need to get laid. So, it so happens that Kicking and Screaming (um, not the one with Will Ferrel) is one of my favorite films, and I've owned it on VHS since it was released on video. It has a handful of eye-bleedingly bad trailers for an assortment of earnest, wretched, and "comic" films, respectively, so I've always fast forwarded them, to minimize the pain. Tonight, for the very first time, someone's face caught my eye, in a trailer for A Very Special Episode-esque film called A Reason To Believe, the thought-provoking and timely tale of a woman struggling in the aftermath of a daterape. The feel good movie of the summer! Anyway, who should I spy in the crowded bar scene but our very own Joe Harold Flanigan. I've owned this film for probably a decade, and I never noticed him before. Wow. In other news, I watched four episodes of Pushing Daisies today at ABC.com. And the Cobra Starship video all you kids are so completely justified in drawing little glitter hearts around. Sincerely, it's cuteness unto death. And via laurashapiro, and especially for lallybroch, Planet Unicorn #4. There is such bliss in this world. So I went to the Symphony last night, with the elegant and superfancy katallison. The music was fluid and delightful, and the Assad brothers mostly gave the impression that they were playing in their kitchen just for the hell of it, and that their nimble notes graced only their own ears. It was very charming. I had a groovy little "Welcome to Seattle" (weeks and weeks after she'd arrived, of course) brunch for Kat on Saturday, attended by such luminaries as T (whose LJ name tragically escapes me-- gah!), mlyn, wickedwords, and . I also met arallara, who may be the most adorable person living in or around the city of Bellingham. Also, I got a thank you note from the always delightful mlyn, which made me smile all over the place. Hopefully we can do it again sometime soon!
